LimX Dynamics, the Shenzhen-based humanoid robotics and embodied AI company, has confidentially filed for a Hong Kong initial public offering aiming to raise up to $300 million, according to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter2,3,5.

The company is working with Citic Securities Co on the deal, with deliberations on size and timing still ongoing. Jesse Liu, LimX Dynamics' chief financial officer, confirmed on Bloomberg TV on August 18, 2026 that the company is working toward an IPO but declined to elaborate further.

The filing follows a $200 million pre-IPO funding round closed in July 2026 that valued LimX Dynamics at 15 billion yuan (approximately $2.2 billion). The company said that round included investors from China, Europe, the Middle East, and North America, bringing its total funding raised over six months to approximately $400 million.

Founded in 2022, LimX Dynamics makes humanoid robots intended for use in homes, manufacturing, research, and commercial venues such as malls. The company develops general-purpose robots and embodied AI systems, and more than 70% of its workforce is dedicated to research and development. LimX Dynamics is also developing an operating system called LimX COSA, described as an agentic AI system for the physical world.

The company's backers include Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, JD.com Inc, and IDG Capital. Alibaba led a strategic investment in LimX Dynamics in 2024, and JD.com led a strategic investment in 2025.

The IPO filing adds to a wave of Chinese robotics companies heading for public listings. Unitree Robotics, described as an industry pioneer, is set to debut in Shanghai on Wednesday after raising about 6.1 billion yuan. Hong Kong listings have raised more than $42 billion this year.

ANALYSIS A $300 million IPO at a reported $2.2 billion valuation would represent one of the larger public market tests for a pure-play humanoid robotics and embodied AI company. The rapid funding trajectory — $400 million raised in six months followed by a confidential filing — reflects the pace at which capital is flowing into the Chinese robotics sector ahead of public listings.
