We took the paywall down rather than ship a half-built product behind one. When subscriptions return, existing readers get notice first — not a surprise charge.
A paid tier may be introduced in future. We have not set a price, and we will publish both the price and what it includes on this page before anyone is asked to pay.
Vector Wire is still shipping segments. Charging for a product with visible gaps, then asking people to wait, is a worse trade than opening it and earning the subscription later. The bar we hold ourselves to is that every published row carries a real source — that bar applies whether or not money has changed hands.
No. There is no card on file and no subscription running. When billing returns it will be opt-in: you will be told before it launches, and you will have to actively choose a plan. Nothing will start charging by default.
Accounts, saved preferences and newsletter subscriptions carry over. Nothing you have today is taken away when paid plans arrive — Pro will add capacity and programmatic access, not reclaim what is currently open.
A small number of subscriptions were taken before access was opened. If you are paying and would rather not be while the product is free, email us and we will refund and cancel it — see the refund policy. If you would rather keep supporting the build, thank you; tell us and we will make sure it counts once plans go live.
Billing runs through Paddleas merchant of record — major cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with sales tax and VAT handled by them. Card details never reach Vector Wire’s servers. The terms and refund policy already describe how billing will work.
The data API is open today at a standard rate limit. Higher limits are the clearest thing Pro will add — if you are building on it and need more headroom now, write to us and we will sort something out.
