AgiBot and Chimelong Group opened what they call the world's first large-scale embodied AI theme park on September 20 at Chimelong Spaceship Park in Hengqin, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province1. More than 300 robots from AgiBot's full product lineup were deployed at the park on opening day.
The venue features more than 100 robot interaction points spanning seven core scenarios: entertainment and commercial performances, science education and study tours, tour guidance and shopping assistance, service and retail stations, intelligent tour companions, hotel services, and sports competitions. The park also debuted what organizers described as the world's largest human-robot joint opening dance performance and the world's first robot aerial acrobatics performance.
The deployment incorporates 5G-A-enabled embodied AI, which organizers called the first large-scale application of that connectivity standard in a cultural and tourism setting. AgiBot robots of the same models that ranked first in both gold medals and overall medal standings at the World Humanoid Robot Games are expected to appear at the park.
Global Times reported that AgiBot has become the world's largest embodied AI company by shipments and revenue. Chimelong Spaceship Park has received more than 10 million visitors since its opening. A separate Pandaily report indicated the 300-plus robots would be operational from September 242, suggesting a phased rollout following the September 20 opening.
Global Times framed the launch as evidence of China's first-mover advantage in embodied AI for cultural tourism, noting that robot deployments at overseas theme parks have been limited to localized pilot programs that have struggled to sustain regular commercial operations.
ANALYSIS The 300-robot deployment at a single consumer-facing venue represents a different commercialization path from the industrial and military applications that have dominated recent Chinese humanoid robotics coverage. Beijing has recently tightened scrutiny of humanoid robotics IPOs on mainland exchanges[1]. A high-visibility consumer deployment of this scale could serve as a commercial proof point for the sector at a moment when mainland capital markets are scrutinizing the segment's revenue viability.
