ByteDance Wires Doubao, Feishu, Volcengine Into Single Enterprise AI Stack

ByteDance CEO Liang Rubo used the 2026 Feishu Future Unlimited Conference and Doubao Work kickoff to lay out a three-part enterprise AI architecture: Doubao for intelligence and agents, Feishu for the collaboration workplace, and Volcengine for models, compute, and enterprise tooling, operating as a single integrated system rather than three siloed products2.

The event capped roughly two months of organizational restructuring that merged Feishu product development into the Doubao reporting line and folded Feishu's go-to-market function with Volcengine into a shared business-to-business motion. Earlier steps had already concentrated TRAE and Coze-related teams around Doubao and launched Doubao Work as a standalone desktop work agent[3].

Agents as workspace participants

Product detail centered on Feishu 8.0, which introduces an agent rewrite allowing AI agents to be invited into Feishu groups as participants. Those agents can draft documents, operate multidimensional tables, schedule meetings, join calls, browse cloud drives, and kick off approvals. Feishu's agent-facing command-line interfaces expanded from 247 functional endpoints in March to 767, with company demos citing call success rising toward about 95% and invocation speed improving by roughly 39%.

ByteDance also introduced Doubao Work Partners, agents with independent identities, permissions, and memory designed to sit in teams as standing members rather than one-off chatbots. Liang argued that agents only create value when model capability, the live work environment, and other agents stay tightly coupled.

Commercial traction

Feishu reported that first-half 2026 annual recurring revenue growth reached 2.5 times the year-earlier pace. More than 90% of new Feishu customers also bought Feishu AI products, and the small-and-medium customer count rose about 70% over the past year. ByteDance pledged to put more resources into the enterprise market.

ANALYSIS The consolidation completes a sequence that began with the TRAE IDE and Coze absorption into Doubao reported in late August[3], extending the reorganization from developer tools into the full enterprise collaboration layer. By unifying the product org under Doubao and the commercial org under Volcengine, ByteDance collapses the distance between model development and enterprise distribution into a single reporting chain.

The 247-to-767 endpoint expansion and the Doubao Work Partners concept position Feishu's agent surface as a platform play rather than a feature add-on, giving third-party and internal agents a persistent identity inside the workspace rather than ephemeral tool calls.

The restructuring is not a financing announcement.
