Instinct quadruples valuation to $10B with $1B Series C one month after prior raise

AI agent startup Instinct raised a $1B Series C from Sequoia, Benchmark, and Coatue, quadrupling its valuation to $10B just one month after its prior…

Instinct, the consumer AI-agent startup that launched its invite-only service in August 2026, closed a $1 billion Series C at a $10 billion valuation, quadrupling the $2.5 billion valuation it carried just one month earlier1. Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital, and Coatue led the round2.

The Information reported the fundraising efforts earlier in September; Instinct confirmed the round in a press release on Monday, September 28.

Instinct belongs to a new class of consumer AI agents that go beyond conversational assistants to execute real-world tasks: booking travel, making restaurant reservations, purchasing goods, paying bills, canceling subscriptions, ordering groceries, and conducting research. When asked to perform a task, Instinct operates through its own phone number and computer rather than acting inside the user's device.

Recent product additions include a concierge feature that places phone calls on a user's behalf to handle tasks such as scheduling appointments at businesses without online booking. Instinct also rolled out a "trusted person network" that lets one user's agent coordinate plans directly with friends' agents.

The capabilities carry a data cost. TechCrunch noted that some users are questioning the volume of personal information they must disclose to AI agents to access such services.

ANALYSIS The velocity of Instinct's fundraising, from launch to a $10 billion valuation in roughly two months, reflects intense investor appetite for agentic AI products that move beyond chat into task execution. The four-fold valuation jump in a single month is among the fastest re-pricings for a venture-backed AI company documented in the evidence.
