Isomorphic Labs is in talks to raise roughly $5 billion at a valuation of approximately $50 billion, according to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter1,2. The financing is not yet final, and terms may change.
The round would mark a sharp acceleration for the Alphabet Inc. subsidiary, which spun out of Google DeepMind in 2021 to build on AlphaFold, the protein-structure-prediction AI. If the deal closes, Isomorphic Labs' total external funding will reach approximately $7.7 billion in under two years.
Isomorphic Labs raised $600 million in its first external round in March 2025, led by Thrive Capital, GV, and Alphabet. Its $2.1 billion Series B closed on May 12, led by Thrive, with Alphabet, GV, MGX, Temasek, CapitalG, and the UK Sovereign AI Fund participating. The new $5 billion raise, reported on November 4, would represent the largest single tranche by a wide margin.
The $50 billion figure sits at the upper end of a valuation range that earlier referenced discussions of $40 billion or more, though the round size had not previously been specified. Isomorphic Labs did not disclose a valuation for its May round.
Demis Hassabis, who founded Isomorphic Labs, expects the company's first clinical trials to begin by the end of December.
ANALYSIS That timeline would place the company's move from computational drug design into human testing within roughly five years of its 2021 founding.
A $50 billion valuation for a pre-clinical-stage company underscores how much investor appetite has grown for AI-native drug discovery, particularly when backed by a proven research lineage in protein modeling.
