NEURA Robotics Ships Neuron AI Foundation Model Spanning Five Robot Bodies

NEURA Robotics on October 14 introduced Neuron AI, a multimodal foundation model for physical AI that fuses 3D vision, touch, audio, robot state and language with memory in a Perception-Language-Action architecture1,3. Rather than treating each sensor as a separate input, the model encodes tactile and force data, audio, 3D vision, robot state and language, aligns them in a shared space over time and converts them into a single action stream. The approach targets tasks cameras cannot solve alone: detecting whether a screw has caught or hearing when a connector clicks into place.

"With Neuron AI, we are building the brain of the physical world: Physical AI that turns human expertise and physical experience into capabilities robots can learn and apply. Developed in Germany, built for the world," said David Reger, Founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics2.

Developed in-house in Metzingen, Germany, Neuron AI is trained on real-world robot data, simulation-amplified data and human demonstrations. The model runs across five NEURA Robotics embodiments and their grippers and hands. Customers can fine-tune Neuron AI for specific tasks and deploy skills across fleets through the Neuraverse platform, with Time-to-Skill as the central progress metric.

NEURA Robotics' humanoid 4NE1 will perform a fully autonomous eleven-minute laundry sequence at Nvidia Corp. GTC Berlin, covering sorting, loading a washing machine, closing and reopening it, unloading and transferring laundry to a dryer without human intervention.

The model launch follows NEURA Robotics' previously announced Series C of up to €1.2 billion in June 2026, which itself came after a €120 million Series B in 2025. The company, founded in 2019, has data partnerships with Schaeffler and Bosch. Other European physical-AI investments in 2026 include Stuttgart-based Sereact's €93 million round and Munich-based RobCo's €89.2 million raise.

ANALYSIS Neuron AI's cross-embodiment design, spanning five robot forms and a fleet-deployment platform, positions NEURA Robotics to compete on breadth of hardware coverage rather than on a single humanoid form factor.
