PyTorch's Accelerator Integration Working Group reported completing several infrastructure upgrades during the first half of 2026, according to an official blog post1. The group said it built Cross-Repository CI Relay (CRCR), a system that dispatches CI events to downstream hardware-vendor repositories and feeds results back into PyTorch's CI dashboard within seconds. Contributors migrated over 276 test files and introduced a hw_classification attribute enforced by a linter requiring every new test class to declare its hardware target. The group also built OCCL, a minimal reference c10d backend for PyTorch's OpenReg, and added compiler and distributed integration documentation.
