Also Inc., the micromobility startup that spun out of Rivian, has raised $150 million in a Series D round led by Prysm Capital to accelerate its autonomous driving development1,2.

The funding follows a $200 million round Also announced in March 2026. The company said the new capital will fund work on several self-driving vehicle formats simultaneously, all built on the electric architecture Also already uses in its consumer and commercial products.

Also spun out of Rivian last year and is described as a micromobility startup developing autonomous driving technology. Chris Yu was identified in connection with the company's leadership.

ANALYSIS The back-to-back raises — $200 million in March followed by $150 million roughly five months later — indicate sustained investor appetite for Also's approach of layering autonomy onto an existing small-EV platform rather than building a dedicated robotaxi from scratch. The decision to pursue multiple self-driving vehicle formats on a shared electric architecture suggests Also is betting that a common autonomy stack can scale across form factors, a strategy that could lower per-vehicle development costs relative to single-format competitors.
