Shield AI and GEK TERNA, Greece's largest critical infrastructure investor, signed a strategic agreement on October 8 in Athens to jointly pursue parts production, aircraft integration, and long-term sustainment for X-BAT in Greece1. X-BAT is an AI-piloted vertical-takeoff strike fighter designed to operate without runways, powered by GE Aerospace's F110 engine and Shield AI's Hivemind autonomy software. Under the agreement, Shield AI leads the program and supplies autonomy software and mission systems, while GEK TERNA manages a Greek supplier base and local program office. Flight testing is planned to begin later this year.
