Ubtech Robotics heads into its half-year earnings review with more than 13,000 bookings for the U1 hyperbionic humanoid, a figure the Shenzhen-based company says has accumulated through distribution channels since orders opened in June1. First deliveries are slated for September 16. The board convenes Friday to review and approve the half-year figures for the six months ended June 30, 20262.

The central question for investors is whether those bookings translate into recognized revenue within the reporting period or remain forward commitments.

The U1 was unveiled at the World Robot Conference in Beijing. Alongside it, Ubtech showed the industrial Cruzr Y1 and the commercial service robot Walker C1. The Walker S series, currently deployed in industrial settings, is slated to evolve into the Walker S3 generation in the second half of 2026.

Ubtech has been building out an industrial partnership web at pace. The company deepened its relationship with Hitachi, which has introduced the Walker S2 humanoid into selected manufacturing environments following a strategic cooperation agreement struck in mid-July. The collaboration now spans lifts, building technology, healthcare, industrial plant, and semiconductor fabrication equipment. The Hitachi China Research Institute has joined forces with Ubtech and Hitachi Elevator on secondary development for the elevator production line.

Separately, Ubtech signed a strategic deal with BASiC Semiconductor focused on silicon carbide power components for embodied-intelligence robots, with plans to deploy its machines directly on BASiC Semiconductor's own production lines. On the compute side, the METAX joint venture Xixuan Chuangzhi is developing edge chips designed for the robot body itself, with tape-out scheduled for next year and mass production planned for the year after.

An extraordinary general meeting in Shenzhen addressed bank credit lines, revised use of proceeds, and a new share incentive scheme for H-shares.

The stock closed Wednesday at €9.15, up 2.4 percent on the day and 3.1 percent over the past month. The year-to-date decline stands at 36 percent, and the shares remain 46 percent below January's 52-week high of €17.00. The 52-week low of €8.50 was set as recently as late July; at €9.22 in recent trading, the stock sits roughly 8.4 percent above that floor.

ANALYSIS The gap between Ubtech's expanding order book and partnership roster on one side, and a stock still down 36 percent year-to-date on the other, puts Friday's earnings in a binary position: the half-year numbers either begin converting announcements into revenue or leave the order pipeline as a forward promise with no near-term financial anchor.
