Ubtech Tops 13,000 Pre-Orders for Consumer Humanoid, Inks Mercedes-Benz Dealer Distribution

Ubtech Robotics surpasses 13,361 pre-orders for its UWORLD U1 humanoid and signs a distribution deal with Mercedes-Benz dealer Boshi Group in China.

Ubtech Robotics has accumulated more than 13,361 pre-orders for its UWORLD U1 consumer humanoid robot series and signed a distribution deal that will place the machines in luxury car dealerships across northern China5.

The Boshi Group, a strategic partner of Mercedes-Benz in China, signed an agreement on July 15, 2026 to become the first authorized reseller of the U1 series in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region1. The robots will be sold through Boshi's 4S dealerships, which include Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai locations, and showcased in the group's "Mechanical Eden" experience space under a rental model aimed at high-net-worth clients.

The U1 comes in three variants: Lite at 119,800 yuan (~$16,500), Pro at 169,800 yuan, and Ultra priced at 990,000 yuan for the male model and 880,000 yuan for the female version. The full-size humanoids feature silicone skin, 88 degrees of freedom, and the ability to simulate roughly 300 micro-facial expressions2. The male robot stands 183 centimetres and weighs 84 kilograms; the female measures 168 centimetres and 70 kilograms. Ubtech describes the line as the world's first mass-produced full-size hyperrealistic humanoid and is positioning it as an AI companion for elderly individuals and people living alone.

Order momentum has built rapidly. Ubtech reported more than 3,800 pre-orders within the first ten days of the Shenzhen launch event, where it displayed over 50 hyperrealistic models. By the end of June, total pre-orders had climbed past 13,361, with down payments topping ten million yuan based on a 3,000-yuan deposit per unit. First verified customer deliveries in China are slated for September 20263.

Production capacity is the binding constraint. Ubtech has outlined plans to produce 20,000 units across its humanoid lineup in 2026, with roughly 15,000 allocated to bionic models. The company is working with Siemens Digital Industries Software to reach an annual capacity of 10,000 units for its Walker series. Ubtech has already rolled out its 1,000th Walker S2 from its Liuzhou factory.

Beyond consumer sales, Ubtech is pushing into industrial deployments. On July 18, the company landed a CNY 90.5 million order from Shanghai Miyi for humanoid robots — which Ubtech called the largest single order of its kind globally. The company recently partnered with South Korean firms to deploy humanoid robots in automotive parts manufacturing and has robots embedded in Zeekr smart factories. Ubtech counts Airbus and Texas Instruments among its industrial collaborators.

The product momentum contrasts with persistent stock-market weakness. Analysis platform StockInvest.us assigned a "Strong Sell" rating, citing a broad downtrend and elevated volatility. Ubtech's Frankfurt-listed shares have fallen roughly 33% since the start of 2026 and sit more than 42% below the 52-week high of €17.00 set in mid-January. Annualized 30-day volatility exceeds 85%. The company posted a loss of 790 million yuan last year, narrowing from 1.16 billion yuan in 2024, while revenue jumped 53% to 2 billion yuan.

ANALYSIS The Boshi dealership channel is a distribution experiment worth watching: it bypasses traditional electronics retail entirely, instead targeting consumers already conditioned to six-figure purchases. Whether Ubtech can convert 13,000-plus pre-orders into delivered, revenue-recognized units by year-end hinges on the 20,000-unit production plan — a target that would represent a roughly twentyfold increase from the approximately 1,000 humanoid units the company shipped previously.

Grand View Research projects the global humanoid robot market will grow from $4.2 billion this year to $40.5 billion by 2033, a compound annual growth rate of 38.2%. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology estimates that over half of the 400-plus humanoid robot models developed worldwide originate from China.
