Unitree G1 hits 10,000–20,000 units, claims best-selling humanoid title

Unitree founder Wang Xingxing said on October 22 that cumulative production of the Unitree G1 humanoid robot has reached roughly 10,000 to 20,000 units since its launch in May 2024, calling it the world's best-selling humanoid robot1,2. Wang disclosed the figure at the 2026 World Physical AI Conference and Unitree Partner Ecosystem Conference held in Hangzhou.

The conference, themed "Advancing Together, Growing as One," drew more than 3,000 guests across a main forum area exceeding 4,000 square meters and over 40 exhibition zones.

The Unitree G1 starts at 99,000 RMB and features 23 to 43 joint motors, 3D LiDAR, and a depth camera, with a runtime of approximately two hours. ANALYSIS At a starting price of 99,000 RMB, a production run in the low tens of thousands puts the G1 in a different commercial bracket from most humanoid programs, which remain pre-revenue or limited to pilot fleets.

Unitree unveiled its new H2-X humanoid robot the day before the conference, with a claimed battery life of about eight hours. Vector Wire covered the H2-X on October 22, noting that Unitree claims the demo footage is real and unaccelerated, though commenters flagged apparent off-camera support in a car-lift sequence[1].

Wang said physical AI is showing signs of "being broken through" but argued that for embodied intelligence to reach its ChatGPT moment, the core challenge lies in aligning AI model inputs and outputs with real robots. He added that commercial service scenarios will reach deployment faster than home and industrial settings. The conference also featured a venture capital forum to connect industry resources.

ANALYSIS Unitree's five-figure production run, while modest by consumer-electronics standards, represents a volume threshold few humanoid makers have publicly claimed.
