Unitree Unveils Unified AI Model for Humanoid Home-Care Robots

Unitree released a unified AI model enabling its G1 humanoid robot to perform home-care tasks autonomously, but has not open-sourced the new system.

Chinese robotics company Unitree has unveiled UnifoLM-OminiA-0.3, a unified embodied AI model that enables humanoid robots to perform home-care and wellness tasks using a single control system1. The model combines real-time reasoning, dialogue, omni-modal perception, and whole-body mobile manipulation, allowing robots to understand spoken instructions, interpret visual information, navigate surroundings, and interact with objects without relying on separate task-specific models.

Unitree posted a video on Monday morning showing its G1 robot performing a range of domestic tasks — tidying cushions from the floor, counting pill boxes in a drawer, tossing laundry into a basket, loading plates into a dishwasher, and adjusting a hospital bed4. The two-minute-fifteen-second video reached one million views in two days.

Unitree describes UnifoLM-OminiA-0.3 as "a single model that supports a variety of home care and wellness tasks, with omni-modal interactive understanding, fully autonomous execution, stability, and disturbance resistance". The model is designed to handle interruptions mid-task — for example, stopping a bed adjustment if a user reports discomfort.

Notably, Unitree has not released a repository, checkpoint, or datasheet for UnifoLM-OminiA-0.3. This marks a shift from the company's previous models: unifolm-world-model-action and unifolm-vla are both available on GitHub with training code, and their weights are hosted on HuggingFace.

The G1 robot is priced starting at $13,500 on Unitree's website, excluding taxes and shipping. Unitree has also recently unveiled a low-cost upper-body humanoid robot priced from 26,900 yuan ($4,290), aimed at making humanoid robotics more affordable.

The announcement arrives against a regulatory backdrop. On June 8, the Pentagon added Unitree, under its official name Hangzhou Yushu Technology, to its list of Chinese military companies. Three US representatives introduced the GUARD Act five days before that Pentagon designation.
