Deep Seek's open-source agent runtime, DeepSeek Harness, reached 1.54 million daily active users as of November 4, the Harness team said in an update on the evening of November 51,2. The count covers only users accessing the product through Deep Seek's official API. Across those users, the runtime consumes roughly 92 trillion tokens per day.
The growth trajectory is steep for a product less than three months old. DeepSeek Harness v0.1 went live on August 13, and the desktop version launched on September 29. IThome's sister outlet Mydrivers noted that daily active users stood at about 271,000 on September 30, meaning the user base grew more than fivefold in roughly five weeks.
Third-party plugins have reached approximately 35,000 since launch, and around 60% of active users have built or installed at least one. That adoption rate reflects the runtime's architecture: models, tools, skills, sessions, sandboxes, storage, scheduling, and the user interface are all assembled from swappable plugins.
The team said it will build an official plugin marketplace so authors can publish plugins more easily and users can find them. Alongside the marketplace, Deep Seek is preparing a creator support program covering token incentives, technical exchanges, and featured placement for plugin authors. The team also plans to improve plugin API stability and compatibility and to strengthen plugin security mechanisms. Deep Seek invited startups and companies to bring their products, services, and specialist capabilities into Harness as plugins and to explore partnerships.
No launch date was given for the marketplace or the author program.
ANALYSIS The planned marketplace would formalize a distribution channel for the 35,000 plugins already in circulation, while the creator support program adds economic incentives to sustain third-party development around the runtime.
