Tech giants, US back $1.8B Biohub push for open AI biology datasets

Meta, Google DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs, and the U.S. government commit $1.8B to build open biology datasets for AI training through Biohub.

A consortium including Meta, Google DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs, and the U.S. government is committing $1.8 billion to build open biology datasets for AI training, the group announced on October 72. Meta, Google DeepMind, and Isomorphic Labs are investing $300 million, while the U.S. government is contributing more than $500 million to the Mark Zuckerberg-backed Biohub1. More than a half-dozen public and private sector organizations are participating.
