Zoox, the Amazon-owned autonomous mobility company, has signed a multi-year partnership with Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. to become the official autonomous ride-hail partner of the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix1,2,6. Under the deal, Zoox plans to offer robotaxi rides to and from Grand Prix Plaza beginning in 2027, with a dedicated pickup and drop-off zone at the site near the northeast corner of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane5.
Brand placement and race-week activations
The agreement gives Zoox prominent brand exposure across the circuit's infrastructure, including placement between Turns 15 and 16, on the F1 rooftop LED, along the Paddock Club escalator, and across the Sphere Exosphere. The partnership also includes Zoox activations across Las Vegas during race week. A Zoox robotaxi is set to be on display at the Atlassian Williams F1 Team's Las Vegas Fan Zone at the New York-New York hotel throughout race week, according to Williams Racing.
Zoox said its presence around Formula 1 builds on its existing relationship with the Atlassian Williams F1 Team, which it joined as an Official Regional Partner on a separate multi-year agreement. Williams Racing said this was the first time an autonomous vehicle company had partnered with a Formula 1 team.
Commercial context in Las Vegas
Zoox began offering paid robotaxi rides in Las Vegas on August 10, calling it the company's first commercial launch. The company currently operates a public service area in Las Vegas with premium pickup and drop-off at major hotels, resorts, entertainment venues including Area15, Sphere, and Harry Reid International Airport. Zoox said it had transported nearly 1 million riders combined across Las Vegas, San Francisco, Austin, and Miami since it began offering free rides. A Las Vegas Review-Journal comparison of six trips from the Excalibur found Zoox averaged $22.62 per ride, 57 percent higher than Lyft's $14.44 average on the same routes.
Carly Wyatt, vice president of experience, communications and marketing at Zoox, said the partnership brings together a shared commitment to engineering and innovation with the people and energy that make Las Vegas special. Brendan Dolby, vice president of commercial at Las Vegas Grand Prix, said the partnership is intended to extend beyond race week itself.
ANALYSIS The deal positions Zoox's autonomous ride-hail service in front of a global Formula 1 audience at a moment when the company is still in the early stages of paid commercial operations, having launched fares in Las Vegas only months earlier.
