Anthropic's amended S-1 shows $33B nine-month revenue, $895B in compute commitments

$33.24B revenue for nine months ended Sept. 30, up ~1,200% year over year.

Anthropic filed an amended Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, November 2, disclosing $33.24 billion in revenue for the nine months ended September 30 — up roughly 1,200% from the same period a year earlier1.

The filing also reported a $104 billion net loss during the period, though Anthropic attributed most of that to the change in fair value of convertible notes and derivative liabilities. The company had posted a loss of $25.1 billion over the same stretch in 2025.

Separately, the amended filing disclosed purchase commitments and lease agreements totaling $895.4 billion, substantially all of which is related to compute and infrastructure.

ANALYSIS The scale of those commitments dwarfs the company's trailing revenue and positions compute procurement as the dominant line item on Anthropic's balance sheet heading into a public listing.

Anthropic, the maker of Claude, released its initial prospectus the prior week, but that filing included financials only through the first half of the year. The amended S-1 adds the third-quarter results, giving prospective investors a more current view of the business as the company moves toward what CNBC described as a potentially historic initial public offering.

ANALYSIS By updating the filing with Q3 numbers showing continued triple-digit-percentage revenue growth, Anthropic narrows the information gap that typically concerns IPO investors evaluating fast-moving AI companies.
