Tesla adds Las Vegas, Phoenix, Jacksonville, San Antonio to Robotaxi map

Tesla named Las Vegas, Phoenix, Jacksonville, and San Antonio as the next four cities for its Robotaxi service, disclosed inside the company's first-ever Robotaxi Safety Report published on October 21, 20261. The expansion adds Nevada and Arizona to a footprint that had been confined to Texas and Florida, plus a supervised pilot in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The service currently operates in six cities: Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa2. Austin remains the only market running Tesla's purpose-built, steering-wheel-free Cybercab; Dallas is the next city targeted for Cybercab deployment.

The new safety website features a live autonomous-mile counter. As of publication, total miles driven by Cybercabs and Model Y Robotaxis had crossed 3.4 million across the six active cities. Tesla reported zero people injured, zero airbag deployments, and zero pedestrians or cyclists hit by a Robotaxi, while claiming the fleet has prevented nine injuries from car crashes.

Tesla obtained approval from the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles in August to deploy up to 5,000 Cybercabs over a 12-month window in Clark County. No specific go-live dates for the four newly named cities have been disclosed.

The Robotaxi program moved from concept to paid rides in Austin on June 22, 2025, starting with a small Model Y fleet and a human safety monitor in the passenger seat. The Cybercab joined the Austin network in September 2026. On the Q3 2026 earnings call on October 22, Tesla executives said the company plans to expand Cybercab service to Dallas next month and begin selling Cybercabs to fleet operators by year-end[3].

ANALYSIS The four-city announcement, timed hours before the Q3 earnings call, extends Tesla's Robotaxi geography to ten named markets. The Las Vegas permit already in hand and the absence of firm launch dates for the other three cities suggest a staggered rollout rather than a simultaneous expansion.
