General Intuition, the New York-based startup building foundation models that train AI agents to navigate physical space and time, is in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation1,2,3. The round would nearly triple the company's valuation just weeks after it closed a $320 million Series A at $2.3 billion.

New investors in the round include Valor Ventures, Point72 Ventures, and Seven Seven Six. Existing backers Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst are also participating. A source close to the deal told TechCrunch the round is oversubscribed as the company continues to field investor interest.

General Intuition plans to use the capital to invest in additional compute infrastructure and talent, with a focus on robotic embodiments4.

CEO Pim de Witte spun General Intuition out of his video game clip-sharing platform Medal in October 2025. The company's foundation models are trained on hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay and action labels — records of which buttons a player pressed and when — sourced from Medal's user base. The company has described itself as building "large action foundation models trained on billions of ground truth action-labeled gameplay clips from 17 million monthly active users on Medal".

Investor Vinod Khosla told TechCrunch that he believes those action labels will be a key part of the emergence of intuition, or the ability for a model to generalize across tasks it was not explicitly trained on.

"It shouldn't have been possible to start a frontier lab in 2025. The doors were shut, they said. But thanks to Vinod, and his relentless ability to believe in founding teams, it was," de Witte said.

The company's fundraising trajectory has been rapid. General Intuition raised $133.7 million in a seed round announced on October 25, 2025. It then closed the $320 million Series A on June 25, led by Khosla Ventures, former Google executive chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The current round in talks would mark the third raise in roughly ten months.

ANALYSIS The pace of valuation growth — from $2.3 billion to a targeted $6 billion in a matter of weeks — is notable even by the standards of AI startup fundraising. The oversubscription reported by TechCrunch suggests that investor appetite for physical AI and robotics-focused foundation models remains strong enough to support aggressive re-pricing between rounds.

General Intuition's approach — repurposing gameplay data as training signal for spatial reasoning and action prediction — differentiates it from language-model-focused labs and positions it in a category where training data for real-world physical tasks has historically been scarce and expensive to collect.
